I teach individuals, groups, and community programs. My approach is practical and flexible, focused on real understanding, not just memorizing answers.


This works well for students who want a clear explanation and for people who need extra support (ESL, ADHD, test anxiety, or a long time since school). You don’t need to struggle to benefit from an adapted teaching style.

I don’t teach only to the test, but I do prepare you for it. We focus on recognizing concepts, not just repeating answers, so new questions don’t throw you off.


The goal is simple: walk into the exam prepared and leave with knowledge you can actually use.

INSTRUCTOR BACKGROUND

David [Zen] Schrankler is an Instructor of Food Safety, Life Skills & Education Skills - formerly for Madison Area-Urban Ministry's JUST BAKERY PROGRAM. 


He is currently the ServSafe Instructor for both The F.E.E.D. Kitchens and the Black Business Hub in Madison, Wisconsin. He also teaches independently. David specializes in teaching for adults facing barriers to employment (recovering from addiction, criminal records, learning challenges or no GED, ESL, or mental health issues) - many of whom have had difficult school experiences. 


David has developed unique teaching methods, games & materials that approach Food Safety in different ways. He adapts his teaching style & speed to meet the student's learning style.

- SERVICES & PRICING -

INDEPENDENT INSTRUCTION or TUTORING:  

$20/hr *° 

    (It takes 6-8 hours to teach the book - possibly less if you have pre-read the materials I generally teach in 2 to 3 hour sessions.)


INDEPENDENT EXAM PROCTORING: 

$80/person *°

(Two hour exam plus ½ hour preparation.)
